Im gunna have to agree with bbbb on this one. quicktime is a rather lousy program and is difficult to deal with when trying to play certain file types. instead of having everyone change what they are doing, couldnt you just download a more efficient wmv player? that seems like the best way to go

Honestly I'm not much of a contributor, but it is possible to have multiple players. I currently on a relatively newly formatted disc have vlc and quicktime. Which suffices.

Don't really get what the point is? I don't understand what people think is so bad about quicktime either.

Perhaps you shouldn't complain abut the videos that commercial websites create (the shareable videos) here. You need to chat with them. Or just get hardware compatible with the content you desire.

I use OS X leopard with Flip4Mac wmv components for my macbook and havn't had a problem playing a video yet. You could also try installing Windows XP or vista through crossover if you really need another video player but Quicktime's been the most reliable for me. However it tends to run slower or less smooth on windows operating systems from my experience. =/

all I have to wait is xx seconds. Usually at least 30 seconds, and seems to go up based on the file size. 1 additional second for every meg above 30.
